MindNotes Privacy Policy

MindNotes is a Mac app that keeps notes on your device. We do not collect personal data, note contents, or usage activity through the app. The app has no advertising, tracking, analytics, or third-party telemetry SDKs, and no account is required.
The app itself does not connect to the network. It requests neither network client nor network server access and contains no in-app update checks. Apple’s system services handle Mac App Store downloads and updates.
Notes and drafts are stored as Markdown files in the app’s local data directory. Language, appearance, launcher position, and custom launcher images also stay on your Mac. When you choose an image, the app reads the file you selected and copies it into its own directory. It does not retain the external path or an access bookmark. The app does not upload this information to the developer or a server.
Use “Show Markdown files” in Preferences to inspect your files. Deleting a note does not automatically remove older migration originals or recovery backups; you can manage these local files in Finder. Notes are not encrypted by the app. If you choose to copy or share files or enable system backups, the destination depends on the software and services you choose.
This policy covers the MindNotes app, not Apple’s App Store, macOS system services, or feedback websites you visit separately. For privacy questions, contact the developer through the MindNotes feedback community. That website’s own privacy policy applies; avoid posting private notes in public discussions.
